The edition of Destination Maiquetia 2024 has arrived, an event that counts with the participation of 5 divisions and the support of the Events Department of IVAO HQ. We seek to unite the divisions of America, this is the opportunity to enjoy a FULL ATC in a flight to the Simón Bolivar International Airport of Maiquetia, share the South American and Caribbean skies with dozens of virtual pilots!

We invite you to participate by flying with us this April 21, 2024!

>> Requirements to participate as a pilot:

• Perform an IFR flight from the airports involved to airport: SVMI.
• Pilots are free to choose one of the following airports as departure: SLVR, SKBO, MUCU, KMIA.
• Put in the REMARKS section of the flight plan: RMK/DESTINATION MAIQUETIA 2024
• Aircraft types: Any Commercial, Cargo, Private or General Aviation aircraft. Military aircraft are not allowed.
• Arrivals must be during event hours.
• Emergencies are not allowed during the event.

>> Suggested Routes:

>> ALL pilots must:

• Ensure that your AIRAC cycle is up to date.
• Have access to all necessary aeronautical charts.
• Follow all altitude/level/speed restrictions in SID and STAR.
• Be vigilant: you may be asked to Standby or be Vectored.
• Comply with all IFR procedures. Remember: Aviate, Navigate, Communicate.
• Maintain standard phraseology, communicate only what is necessary.
• Respect radio communication rules, to avoid disrupting ongoing communications.

>> XA ATC:
> XADivision members (AS3 or higher) and active XA GCA holders are encouraged to request an ATC position on the ATC schedule.
> Events Staff will assign specific positions at least 24 hours before the event. Assigned controllers will be messaged on the XA discord server.

Note: We recommend testing the scenarios before the event to avoid unexpected failures.

>> Requirements:
– All pilots must at least complete a minimum flight as described in section Pilot requirements.
– Only flights performed from the airports involved will be valid to qualify for the HQ point, without exception.
– Members participating as ATC must comply with the reserved space to be eligible. If available at the time of the event, all ATCs providing at least one (1) hour of control at the facilities assigned to the event will be eligible for awards.

>> This event will be valid for the IVAO HQ Event Support award for participating pilots and controllers.
